Pinterest Challenge Week 1
I'm always looking for cool ways to infuse color into the nursery. You see, Mingo & Grace share a nursery and since they are boy/girl twins I wanted to keep the nursery neutral. Well, neutral turned into an all white nursery which was okay when they were babies, but now its time to layer in some color.
I purchased these City Wall Decals from French Bull with the intention of applying them to the nursery wall, but never got around to doing it because I couldn't decide which wall to put them on. So instead of continuing the nightmare of painting Ikea furniture, I decided to use the decals to update their plain white Malm dressers instead.
Thanks to the Pinterest Challenge I have actually completed a Pinterest project. Yay me! Here it is:
Why one red drawer? That's what I was referring to when I mentioned continuing the nightmare of painting Ikea furniture. The original plan was to spray paint the dressers red, but it was much more work than I was willing to commit to at that point. This was probably the easiest projects I've done in awhile. You simply just peel and stick. If you change your mind, don't fret the decals are removable.

PINTEREST CHALLENGE
22 February 2013
I love Pinterest! I can't deny it. It has to be the best invention ever for compulsive creative types, such as myself. A digital pin board. Why didn't I think of that? I should have totally thought of it first. Any who, it's here now and I'm forever grateful. I must admit, I have pinned way too many projects I never got around to doing. But that ends today, because I'm taking Merrick's Pinterest Challenge.
There is nothing like a good ole' fashioned challenge to kick you into high gear.
Here's the Challenge:
Go through your Pinterest boards and pick six pins to work on and complete during the next six weeks, and then report on them at the end of those six weeks.
Sounds fun, right?
Here's what I'll be working on over the next 6 weeks:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

ELLA TOP
14 February 2013
Its the final week of Project Run & Play and I'm sewing along. This week's challenge is personal style. I would define Grace's style as modern cool. We (meaning me) prefer yellow and green over pink and inverted pleats over ruffles and frill. Just comfortable clean designed clothing.
Don't you just love when you find a use for a forgotten project! this top was actually a dress I cut for Grace at the end of the last summer, but never got around to sewing it. It's a thin corduroy, so I ended up lining it with fabric from another forgotten project. I simply paired it with a basic pair of black jeggings, I made out of stretchy denim. I think i might make her another one in a different color.
Someone was too preoccupied with Momma's phone to smile for pictures.
I'm a little disappointed I didn't participate as much as I would have liked, but I'll be ready for the next season. If you know of any other linky parties, let me know in the comment section.

SNOW DAY
09 February 2013
As most of the East Coast dig its way out of a snow storm, we were lucky to only get a few inches. In fact, the snow melted so quickly we had to take Mingo & Grace on the roof deck to play in the snow
To say Mingo didn't care for the snow would be an understatement. You would have thought he was walking on hot coal barefoot the way that boy was carrying on.
Grace the fearless child jumped right in
