IF IT TAKES LESS THAN TWO MINUTES, DO IT NOW.
After the twins were born, I found it difficult to keep up with normal day to day task, like washing dishes, doing laundry, keeping the house tidy, combing my hair, (you know, the usual stuff that gets thrown to the wayside when you have babies/toddlers in the house)... I was really struggling with how messy my house and life had become until I discovered the Two Minute Rule. Talk about life changing advice. For me, just thinking about all that needed to get done was a total waste of time that I didn't have. So instead of formulating a plan to do the most mundane task, if it would take less than two minutes I would just do it right then and there.
What's some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered?
That is brilliant! I find myself trying to prioritize tasks that could really be accomplished in just a minute or two if I just did it! Going to try to implement this. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat! Glad it was helpful advice
DeleteThis is smart! I often put things off to do them all at once but a little time here and there adds up!
ReplyDeleteI know right! When I first read it, I was like well duh. Lol
Deleteoh yeah! this is a good one! :)
ReplyDeletehere in Lithuania we have this saying ' if you can do this today, don't postpone it for tomorrow ' - which is very similar to yours. Well, the same meaning!
and they are very true!
then things work just well :)
I like that. Thanks for sharing
DeleteI really should follow the two-minute rule. I often find myself worrying about something I haven't done, when in reality it could be done in a few sparse minutes. Thanks for the advice!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome!
DeleteBrilliant advice, thanks for the share! That gives you a sense of accomplishment and makes it easier to keep plugging along on the list.

Definitely!
DeleteAs a mother of four, I certainly need to do this. My house is a mess. :)
ReplyDeleteIt really helped me a lot. Just taking two minutes to throw in a load of laundry has been game changing for me. Especially since I don't have to do the folding. Lol
DeleteGreat idea! The Two Minute Rule sounds simple enough for anyone to incorporate into their lives to maximize productivity.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome rule and it's one I try to follow. Getting my husband to follow it is the tricky part. He has a way of pushing those things aside because he doesn't want to interrupt whatever project he's working on. I'm trying to think of a way to kindly enforce the two minute rule without making him feel like he's in grade school :p
