SPRING SEWING INSPIRATION

Kid's Clothes Week Sewing Challenge begins next week, so I thought I would share my inspiration boards.

KCWCKid's Clothes Week is a seasonal sewing challenge created by Meg from elsie marley. The Spring challenge begins April 22nd and goes through April 29th. It involves dedicating at least one hour a day to sewing clothes for kids. Sounds simple enough right?  I'm excited to see all I can get done within one week.  Not to mention the hundreds of other people all around the world joining in.  Here are my inspiration boards:

1|  Studded Plimsoll. I guess I will be breaking out my glue gun for these babies.

2|  Brightly Colored Cardigans. Cardigans are essential in the spring because the weather is tricky. I would like to make several of these using my DIY Cardigan Pattern out of various brightly colored knits for mingo and grace to share. If time permits, I'll add those adorable checkered shorts to my to do list.

3|  Mao Collared shirt with roll up sleeves. I plan to use the Prepster Pullover Shirt pattern from Blank Slate Patterns to achieve this look in some kind of linen fabric.

4|  Stripe shirt. I also purchased the Beachy Boatneck Shirt pattern from Blank Slate Patterns. I can see this pattern becoming one of my "go to" patterns.  I could lengthen it to make a dress for grace if i wanted to.

1|  Formby Top. I just love how sweet this top looks. Hoping to find some gauzy linen fabric to make a  couple of this top and a dress.

2|  Blackpool Dress. Super cute 1950's inspired party dress. Plan to make one made out of gingham for a preppy look.

3|  Fish Short Sleeve Tee. Super stylish printed tee shirt made out of soft cotton fabric. Maybe I'll get the chance to print my own fabric

4|  The Casey Pant. Aren't these harem baggy pants in gingham print super cute. I  think they would be a nice alternative to basic a capri.

5|  Dress with Flower Print. There is something so simplistic about this dress and I hope to sew up several of these

6|  Straight Grain's Confetti Top. I adore this top. It encompasses everything I love about dressing a little girl. Color, fluttery sleeves and peplum!
