FIVE AND TEN DESIGNS LOOK NO. 1

Have you heard of Five and Ten Design's Volume One eBook? It's a great resource that builds off of one basic bodice block pattern. If you've been following my blog, you know how important creating a slope/block pattern is to me. I use the same block pattern as the base for most of my projects. I've been meaning to update Grace's block, so I was excited when Jessica asked me to try out the Five and Ten Design's Volume One eBook. The basic bodice pattern comes in sizes 12 months to 10 years, so I won't need to make my own bodice pattern for quite some time now. #mommywin

Here's how the designer's describe it:

The five and ten designs 'Volume One' eBook is a collection of pattern alterations based on one original bodice block pattern. With clear instructions and step by step high resolution photos as a guide, you will be able to sew ten completely different looks by the time you are done with it. Using the bonus accessory patterns, you can connect with your own inner designer by adding a collar here, a cap sleeve there, or a pocket to any of the designs, thus making it all your own. The possibilities are endless. Sew one, or sew a whole wardrobe, all from just one basic pattern.
mingo & grace | five and dime designs Look No. 1I love to mix texture, so I sewed up Look no. 1 in a comfy stripe knit and added 7 layers of tulle to the skirt. I usually cut a size 2, but I decided to size down to 18 months to accomadate the stretch knit. It fits perfectly!

    1. Just checked it out. It's a great concept, and one which is much more conducive to creativity than the one-pattern-one-dress idea. Glad to see people making tools to enable people to try designing for themselves. :)
